Julie Moyes served in the Foreign Service for 32 years. As a Public Diplomacy Officer she worked on the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) overseas, in New York City and in Washington. Julie was chief of Cultural Affairs Training at the State Department’s Foreign Service Institute (FSI) until her retirement in 2016 and since then she has done public speaking about the work of the State Department, specifically about the effectiveness of “soft power” in foreign policy. In 2019 she was invited by the American Foreign Service Association (AFSA) to speak to 150 Road Scholars at the Chautauqua Institute in Chautauqua, NY and was invited back for the September 2021 Road Scholars Program.
